Sweden : PhD in Business Administration
Postgraduate studies at Karlstad University is conducted in 26 subjects – business administration is one of them. A large number of business researchers and graduate students associated with the multidisciplinary research unit CTF – Service Research Center (www.ctf.kau.se). The CTF is working 63 people, including nine professors and some 20 graduate students. Research is focused on three main areas: service innovation, organization and management of service operations and customer orientation of service activities. Examples of areas of service research as CTF conducts research in the service development and service innovation, power, processes and working in service and value creation through services. Employment as a PhD student to be associated with ongoing research on the work consumers perform on Web 2.0 forum on the Internet. Doctoral student’s research focus will be the kind of work consumers do, how-working consumers create value together with other consumers and businesses and how their work checked. Eligibility and assessment criteria: General admission to third level education if he or she
first a degree at advanced level, second has completed course requirements of at least 240 credits, including at least 60 credits at second level or third in any other way in or out of the country acquired the equivalent knowledge. The university is to permit an exception to the general entry requirements, if there are special reasons.
Special requirements for admission to graduate studies in business administration, the person in completing course requirements of at least 240 credits, pursued studies of at least 120 credits in the subject. Of the studies at the advanced level, at least 30 credits at second level consist of business, of which 15 credits is an independent project. The requirements for studies and independent work in business administration can be replaced by studies of a similar theme or subject area.
