Master Study Grants for International Students at USI in Switzerland
For the 2014/15 academic year, the Foundation for the Lugano Faculties of USI will award a total of 60 one-off study grants of the amount of 4’000 CHF each. The merit based grants are given to first year students admitted to a USI Master program starting in September 2014. The grant is awarded in the form of a deduction of the tuition fee and cannot be exchanged for cash. If the recipient decides not to register at USI, he/she may not, under any circumstances, ask for a deposit in the amount of CHF 4’000. Likewise, if the student recipient of the grant withdraws after the first semester, he/she may not request the amount of the grant.
- Grants are awarded within the faculties of Economics, Communication Sciences and Informatics.
- Grants are available for pursuing master degree.
Eligibility: -The applicant must have obtained the Bachelor degree (all examinations taken and thesis defended) by July 31st, 2014 with a cumulative grade point average of at least 80/100. -Applicants must have been admitted to the first year of a USI Master degree beginning in September 2014. Applications from students enrolled in a USI Master before Sept 1st, 2014 will not be considered.
- International students can apply for these study grants.
- These study grants will be assigned as follows: -20 grants will be awarded to students that pursued a Bachelor degree at a Swiss University -20 to students that pursued a Bachelor degree at an Italian University -20 to students that pursued a Bachelor degree at a University from other countries
- USI will award one-off study grants.

- The merit based grants are given to first year students admitted to a USI Master program starting in September 2014. Merit is determined by the results of the academic degree that gives access to the Master program (usually the Bachelor’s).
- All applicants will be informed of the outcome of their request by August 15th, 2014.
