Overview
NTNU charges no tuition fee to international students who enrol in its 2-year international master's programmes, which are taught entirely in English. The offer comes from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Norway. You still pay your own living costs, and students from outside the EU/EEA/EFTA must prove they have enough money to live in Norway before a student visa is granted.

What the award covers
NTNU does not charge tuition fees. That is the whole of the support: the fee waiver applies, but living expenses are yours to cover. If you are not a citizen of an EU/EEA/EFTA country, you must also show enough funding to live in Norway, because the student visa is not granted without it. Plan your budget for the full stay before you apply.
Eligibility requirements
To enter the tuition-free master's programmes taught in English you must hold a bachelor's degree in a relevant field with a grade point average of at least C. Each study programme sets its own academic requirements, so check the one you want on the official website (link below). Your bachelor's degree must be completed by the start of the semester at NTNU in August.
You also need a good command of academic English, and you may have to submit TOEFL or IELTS scores. NTNU's English requirements are listed on the official website. English tests must be no more than 2 years old, so a test taken before 1 December 2 years prior to your application will not be accepted. The Cambridge test is the only exception and is valid for life.

Who should apply
This suits students from any country who want a full 2-year master's degree taught in English in Norway and can fund their own living costs. It fits best if you already hold a bachelor's degree in a relevant field with a grade point average of at least C, and you can show English ability at academic level, with a TOEFL or IELTS score if NTNU asks for one.
Applicants from outside the EU/EEA/EFTA should apply only if they can document enough funding to live in Norway, since the student visa depends on it.

How to apply
- Read the official admissions page for your chosen programme before you prepare anything, since each programme sets its own academic requirements.

- Book your English test in good time and check that your score will still be valid on the application date.
- Work out a realistic living budget for Norway, and for non-EU/EEA/EFTA applicants, prepare the funding documents the visa requires.
- Submit before the deadline rather than on the day, so you have time to fix any missing document.
