Wuhan, China — Wuhan University of Technology (WUT), in collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China (MOFCOM), is thrilled to announce the opening of applications for the MOFCOM Scholarship 2024. This prestigious scholarship program is dedicated to nurturing young and middle-aged talents from developing countries, providing them with the opportunity to pursue Master’s and Doctoral degrees at one of China’s foremost technology institutions.

Since its inception in 2015, the MOFCOM Scholarship has been a cornerstone in international education, fostering global cooperation and skill development. The scholarship targets citizens from developing countries (excluding China) who aspire to advance their education while contributing to their home countries’ development.

Key Details of the MOFCOM Scholarship at WUT:

  • Programs Offered: Master’s (3 years) and PhD (3 years) across various fields.
  • Medium of Instruction: All programs are conducted in English.
  • Eligibility: Applicants must be under the age of 45 and citizens of a developing country. They should possess a Bachelor’s degree for Master’s applications or a Master’s degree for PhD applications. A minimum of three years of work experience and English proficiency equivalent to IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 80 are also required.

Comprehensive Scholarship Benefits:

  • Tuition: Full tuition waiver for the duration of the program.
  • Accommodation: Free on-campus housing.
  • Stipend: Monthly stipend of RMB 36,000 for Master’s students and RMB 42,000 for PhD students.
  • Additional Benefits: Includes a one-time resettlement fee of RMB 3,000, free medical insurance, and round-trip international airfare once per year.

Application Process:

  1. Where to Apply: Candidates must submit their applications through the Economic and Commercial Counselor’s Office (ECCO) of the Chinese Embassy in their respective countries.
  2. Required Documents: Applicants need to provide a completed MOFCOM Scholarship Application Form, highest diploma and academic transcripts, a study plan or research proposal, two recommendation letters, a photocopy of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form, an English proficiency certificate, a valid passport copy, and a non-criminal record certificate.
  3. Submission Guidelines: All documents must be submitted in either Chinese or English, with both online and hard copies as directed.

  • Access: Applicants should log onto the CSC’s official website or Campus China and navigate to the scholarship application section.
  • Registration: Create an account, log in, fill out the application form, and upload the necessary documents.
  • Final Steps: Review and submit the application form, then print it out and send all required documents to ECCO.

The application deadline is May 31, 2024. Interested individuals are encouraged to apply early to ensure their applications are processed in a timely manner.
